That Wench, Mrs. Clinton, said in a Senate Armed Services committee meeting that Ambassador Crocker and General Petraeus' report on Iraq required "the willing suspension of disbelief" ... and that if she had known in 2002 what she knows now about the lack of weapons of mass destruction, she would not have voted to authorize the war.

How's about we review the extensive list of reasons that both House's stipulated as reasons to use force against Iraq.

And when you're done, boys & girls, fill me in on exactly how much of that has to do with WMD ... and then remind me whose husband's policy it was to effect regime change in Iraq.

Joint Resolution to Authorize the Use of
United States Armed Forces Against Iraq

Whereas in 1990 in response to Iraq's war of aggression against and
illegal occupation of Kuwait, the United States forged a coalition of
nations to liberate Kuwait and its people in order to defend the
national security of the United States and enforce United Nations
Security Council resolutions relating to Iraq;

Whereas after the liberation of Kuwait in 1991, Iraq entered into a
United Nations sponsored cease-fire agreement pursuant to which Iraq
unequivocally agreed, among other things, to eliminate its nuclear,
biological, and chemical weapons programs and the means to deliver and
develop them, and to end its support for international terrorism;

Whereas the efforts of international weapons inspectors, United
States intelligence agencies, and Iraqi defectors led to the discovery
that Iraq had large stockpiles of chemical weapons and a large scale
biological weapons program, and that Iraq had an advanced nuclear
weapons development program that was much closer to producing a nuclear
weapon than intelligence reporting had previously indicated;

Whereas Iraq, in direct and flagrant violation of the cease-fire,
attempted to thwart the efforts of weapons inspectors to identify and
destroy Iraq's weapons of mass destruction stockpiles and development
capabilities, which finally resulted in the withdrawal of inspectors
from Iraq on October 31, 1998;

Whereas in 1998 Congress concluded that Iraq's continuing weapons
of mass destruction programs threatened vital United States interests
and international peace and security, declared Iraq to be in "material
and unacceptable breach of its international obligations" and urged the
President "to take appropriate action, in accordance with the
Constitution and relevant laws of the United States, to bring Iraq into
compliance with its international obligations" (Public Law 105-235);

Whereas Iraq both poses a continuing threat to the national
security of the United States and international peace and security in
the Persian Gulf region and remains in material and unacceptable breach
of its international obligations by, among other things, continuing to
possess and develop a significant chemical and biological weapons
capability, actively seeking a nuclear weapons capability, and
supporting and harboring terrorist organizations;

Whereas Iraq persists in violating resolutions of the United
Nations Security Council by continuing to engage in brutal repression
of its civilian population thereby threatening international peace and
security in the region, by refusing to release, repatriate, or account
for non-Iraqi citizens wrongfully detained by Iraq, including an
American serviceman, and by failing to return property wrongfully
seized by Iraq from Kuwait;

Whereas the current Iraqi regime has demonstrated its capability
and willingness to use weapons of mass destruction against other
nations and its own people;

Whereas the current Iraqi regime has demonstrated its continuing
hostility toward, and willingness to attack, the United States,
including by attempting in 1993 to assassinate former President Bush
and by firing on many thousands of occasions on United States and
Coalition Armed Forces engaged in enforcing the resolutions of the
United Nations Security Council;

Whereas members of al Qaida, an organization bearing responsibility
for attacks on the United States, its citizens, and interests,
including the attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001, are known to
be in Iraq;

Whereas Iraq continues to aid and harbor other international
terrorist organizations, including organizations that threaten the
lives and safety of American citizens;

Whereas the attacks on the United States of September 11, 2001
underscored the gravity of the threat posed by the acquisition of
weapons of mass destruction by international terrorist organizations;

Whereas Iraq's demonstrated capability and willingness to use
weapons of mass destruction, the risk that the current Iraqi regime
will either employ those weapons to launch a surprise attack against
the United States or its Armed Forces or provide them to international
terrorists who would do so, and the extreme magnitude of harm that
would result to the United States and its citizens from such an attack,
combine to justify action by the United States to defend itself;

Whereas United Nations Security Council Resolution 678 authorizes
the use of all necessary means to enforce United Nations Security
Council Resolution 660 and subsequent relevant resolutions and to
compel Iraq to cease certain activities that threaten international
peace and security, including the development of weapons of mass
destruction and refusal or obstruction of United Nations weapons
inspections in violation of United Nations Security Council Resolution
687, repression of its civilian population in violation of United
Nations Security Council Resolution 688, and threatening its neighbors
or United Nations operations in Iraq in violation of United Nations
Security Council Resolution 949;

Whereas Congress in the Authorization for Use of Military Force
Against Iraq Resolution (Public Law 102-1) has authorized the President
"to use United States Armed Forces pursuant to United Nations Security
Council Resolution 678 (1990) in order to achieve implementation of
Security Council Resolutions 660, 661, 662, 664, 665, 666, 667, 669,
670, 674, and 677";

Whereas in December 1991, Congress expressed its sense that it
"supports the use of all necessary means to achieve the goals of United
Nations Security Council Resolution 687 as being consistent with the
Authorization of Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution (Public
Law 102-1)," that Iraq's repression of its civilian population violates
United Nations Security Council Resolution 688 and "constitutes a
continuing threat to the peace, security, and stability of the Persian
Gulf region," and that Congress, "supports the use of all necessary
means to achieve the goals of United Nations Security Council
Resolution 688";

Whereas the Iraq Liberation Act (Public Law 105-338) expressed the
sense of Congress that it should be the policy of the United States to
support efforts to remove from power the current Iraqi regime and
promote the emergence of a democratic government to replace that
regime;

Whereas on September 12, 2002, President Bush committed the United
States to "work with the United Nations Security Council to meet our
common challenge" posed by Iraq and to "work for the necessary
resolutions," while also making clear that "the Security Council
resolutions will be enforced, and the just demands of peace and
security will be met, or action will be unavoidable";

Whereas the United States is determined to prosecute the war on
terrorism and Iraq's ongoing support for international terrorist groups
combined with its development of weapons of mass destruction in direct
violation of its obligations under the 1991 cease-fire and other United
Nations Security Council resolutions make clear that it is in the
national security interests of the United States and in furtherance of
the war on terrorism that all relevant United Nations Security Council
resolutions be enforced, including through the use of force if
necessary;

Whereas Congress has taken steps to pursue vigorously the war on
terrorism through the provision of authorities and funding requested by
the President to take the necessary actions against international
terrorists and terrorist organizations, including those nations,
organizations or persons who planned, authorized, committed or aided
the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001 or harbored
such persons or organizations;

Whereas the President and Congress are determined to continue to
take all appropriate actions against international terrorists and
terrorist organizations, including those nations, organizations or
persons who planned, authorized, committed or aided the terrorist
attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001, or harbored such persons
or organizations;

Whereas the President has authority under the Constitution to take
action in order to deter and prevent acts of international terrorism
against the United States, as Congress recognized in the joint
resolution on Authorization for Use of Military Force (Public Law
107-40); and

Whereas it is in the national security of the United States to
restore international peace and security to the Persian Gulf region;

Now, therefore, be it
resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United
States of America in Congress assembled,

SEC. 1. SHORT TITLE.

This joint resolution may be cited as the "Authorization for the
Use of Military Force Against Iraq".

SEC. 2. SUPPORT FOR UNITED STATES
DIPLOMATIC EFFORTS

The Congress of the United States supports the efforts by the
President to--

(a) strictly enforce through the United Nations Security Council
all relevant Security Council resolutions applicable to Iraq and
encourages him in those efforts; and

(b) obtain prompt and decisive action by the Security Council to
ensure that Iraq abandons its strategy of delay, evasion and
noncompliance and promptly and strictly complies with all relevant
Security Council resolutions.

SEC. 3. AUTHORIZATION FOR USE OF UNITED STATES ARMED FORCES.

(a) AUTHORIZATION. The President is authorized to use the Armed
Forces of the United States as he determines to be necessary and
appropriate in order to

(1) defend the national security of the United States against the
continuing threat posed by
Iraq; and

(2) enforce all relevant United Nations Security Council
Resolutions regarding Iraq.

(b) PRESIDENTIAL DETERMINATION.

In connection with the exercise of the authority granted in
subsection (a) to use force the President shall, prior to such exercise
or as soon there after as may be feasible, but no later than 48 hours
after exercising such authority, make available to the Speaker of the
House of Representatives and the President pro tempore of the Senate
his determination that

(1) reliance by the United States on further diplomatic or other
peaceful means alone either (A) will not adequately protect the
national security of the United States against the continuing threat
posed by Iraq or (B) is not likely to lead to enforcement of all
relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions regarding Iraq,
and

(2) acting pursuant to this resolution is consistent with the
United States and other countries continuing to take the necessary
actions against international terrorists and terrorist organizations,
including those nations, organizations or persons who planned,
authorized, committed or aided the terrorists attacks that occurred on
September 11, 2001.

(1) SPECIFIC STATUTORY AUTHORIZATION. -- Consistent with section
8(a)(1) of the
War Powers Resolution, the Congress declares that this section is
intended to constitute
specific statutory authorization within the meaning of section 5(b)
of the War Powers
Resolution.

(2) APPLICABILITY OF OTHER REQUIREMENTS. -- Nothing in this
resolution supersedes any requirement of the War Powers Resolution.

SEC. 4. REPORTS TO CONGRESS

(a) The President shall, at least once every 60 days, submit to the
Congress a report on matters relevant to this joint resolution,
including actions taken pursuant to the exercise of authority granted
in section 2 and the status of planning for efforts that are expected
to be required after such actions are completed, including those
actions described in section 7 of Public Law 105-338 (the Iraq
Liberation Act of 1998).

(b) To the extent that the submission of any report described in
subsection (a) coincides with the submission of any other report on
matters relevant to this joint resolution otherwise required to be
submitted to Congress pursuant to the reporting requirements of Public
Law 93-148 (the War Powers Resolution), all such reports may be
submitted as a single consolidated report to the Congress.

(c) To the extent that the information required by section 3 of
Public Law 102-1 is included in the report required by this section,
such report shall be considered as meeting the requirements of section
3 of Public Law 102-1.

So, Reid and Durbin are dismissing General David Petraeus' report regarding Iraq next week - before they've even heard the report. Durbin claims to have been sending e-mails back and forth to "civilians" in Iraq, who allegedly were working on General Petraeus' report.

Naturally, no names were given...

So the bonus of being married to a wonderful woman is that I also got two fantastic brothers-in-law. The older one posted the following in 2006 on Memorial Day about the younger one, and reposted it this year. He has given me permission to repost it here, for which I am very grateful. Thank you both for being my brothers and for keeping me cognizant of what Memorial Day, Veterans Day, and being an American are all about.

This is later than normal for me, but I was celebrating Memorial Day the traditional American way: at the beach, with the family. However, one member of the family was noticeably absent, my younger brother Steve. Steve is a career soldier in the Army, and during the last 12 years, he has been stationed a various Forts throughout the U.S., and has even been deployed to Korea (twice). He has also spent a year in Iraq, specifically in Ramadi, located at the very heart of the “Sunni Triangle of Death”. During his time in Iraq, my brother survived an IED attack, participated in countless patrols, and upon his return to the states, was awarded the Bronze Star for his service in a combat zone. I am very proud of my brother and his service to this Country, but Memorial Day is not about honoring the survivors of war; it is about honoring the ones that made the ultimate sacrifice.

In a combat zone, a soldier is not afforded the luxury of debating U.S. foreign policy or how best to deal with terrorists. There is no room for the lofty ideals of diplomats, or the blind ambitions of politicians. There is no time to debate ideological differences, or the justifications for war. In a combat zone, a soldier doesn’t care how history will judge this war; a soldier has time to think about only two things: life and death. Though it is not fair, there is only the stark reality of war: some of the best people do not come back.

On March 04, 2005, four members of my brother’s unit were killed by an IED while on patrol in Ramadi. My brother, who was on the same patrol, did not see the attack; but he heard and felt it. He knew from the power of the explosion, that someone had died, but it wasn’t until later that he would learn the particulars. Killed in action were SFC Donald Eacho, CPT Sean Grimes, SPC Wade Twyman, and SPC Stephen McGowan. These men represented the best of what America has to offer, and they should not be relegated to mere statistics. To honor their memory, my brother’s unit commissioned the creation of a bracelet that was dedicated to these fine young men. To this day, Steve wears his bracelet, not as a sign of mourning, but as a celebration of their lives. To some, it may only be a simple reminder of what was lost that day, but to my brother, it is a complex token of the brotherhood forged by the horrors of combat.

War is never the only option, but sometimes it is the best option. Whether or not this is the case in Iraq, is irrelevant. To discuss the validity of this war, on this date, would dishonor the memory of these men. At least we have the luxury to openly disagree with the powers that be; at least we can scream at the top of our lungs our disapproval for the whole world to hear. And why do we have these freedoms? It’s because so many fine young men and women have given their lives in defense our rights, our ideals, our Nation. So on behalf of a grateful Nation, I say thank you for your sacrifice; your life, and death, will never be forgotten.

Amnesty for Illegals?!

So, a metric assload of illegals are now going to be given AMNESTY by the virtue that their very existence on American soil began by breaking our laws. (Well, that's not the whole story, but I'm not here to write about the Democrat party passing legislation to increase their voter rolls by several million. That's a given. There's no doubt illegal immigrant's Z-Visas will come gift wrapped with their pre-approved Democrat Party registration cards, voter registration, driver's license, small business license, business loans, and other "assistance.")

What kind of solution is that?

Before a single apple picking illegal immigrant gets so much as a whif of a green card, visa, amnesty, legal job, or citizenship - our legislators (read "capitulators") in WDC need to contact every single foreigner who was ever turned away when they tried to LEGALLY enter our country.

Give the people who actually respect and abide by our laws the green cards FIRST.

Give the people who actually respect and abide by our laws the visas FIRST.

Give the people who actually respect and abide by our laws the amnesty (that they don't even need) FIRST.

Give the people who actually respect and abide by our laws a legal job FIRST.

Give the people who actually respect and abide by our laws their citizenship FIRST.

Then, and only then, should legislators consider so much as offering illegal immigrants a free ride on the fast train to our southern border where, if they want to work so effing bad, they can build a border wall - from the SOUTHERN side. When they're done, they can then walk to the gate and apply just like everyone else. Maybe they'll get lucky and get in sometime in the next 10 years.

Because the Law Doesn't Apply to KIRO-TV...

KIRO-TV (CBS) in Seattle apparently believes they are above the law when it comes to taking advantage of the disabled.

Located at the Tacoma Police Department, of all places, on April 26, 2007, this KIRO news van was parked in a marked handicapped parking spot.

The reporter and assistant were overheard inside the building grousing about the TPD not having a media room to accomodate their coverage of either the Mayor or the Governor's expected visit later in the day. Having already set up some of their equipment outside, it's clear that KIRO had been in this spot for more than just a minute or two.

So, in thanks to the news media who doesn't care a whit to provide balanced reporting on what's truly going on in Iraq, this Soldier gets to return the favor by reporting when KIRO TV chooses to take advantage of the handicapped.

"Minneapolis Community and Technical College has brought forth a proposal to install ritual washing facilities to facilitate Muslim prayer. Is this a tempest in a teapot, as some have suggested?" Is it? You decide.

"Canada, our neighbor to the north, is farther down the "accommodations" road. A glance north can shed light on whether prayer spaces and ritual washing facilities are likely to satisfy activists for long."

"Last month, the Canadian Federation of Students issued a report, titled "Final Report of the Task Force on Needs of Muslim Students," that calls for sweeping changes at the country's institutions of higher education."

Among the suggestions of the "Final Report of the Task Force on Needs of Muslim Students":

1)"Criticizes Canada's loan-based system of financing higher education and calls for outright grants to students. "Education related government loans should not accumulate interest," it says, since Islam "opposes usury and involvement with interest-bearing loans."

2)"The report endorses "women-only" time at athletic facilities, and urges colleges to "provide curtains or screens over the observation windows" when women are using the pool." SUBJUGATE THY WOMEN!!!!

3)"Muslim-only prayer space,"multiple prayer spaces" with "easy access" from all over campus. All new building plans should include prayer space and ritual washing facilities if necessary, it adds."

4)"Food service workers must learn to prepare halal food, which is ritually slaughtered and otherwise permissible under Sharia law. After preparing non-halal food, staff must "change sanitary gloves and wash cutlery and surfaces" to avoid contaminating halal food."

5)"If a campus fails to make these changes, and others like them?" "The report outlines a comprehensive system "to encourage and facilitate a culture of reporting Islamophobia on campus. Anti-discrimination officers should be notified whenever such a comment is made, it says." ANTI-DISCRIMINATION OFFICERS??????

6)"Faculty, staff, students and administrators must all learn "the tenets of Islam," it said. "Education modules" for professors should incorporate a focus on "Islam and Islamophobia," while student activities could range from courses on themes of the Qur'an and the Islamic world today to "socials, programs and other initiatives" to teach about Islam. Everyone on campus should learn to recognize his or her "collective responsibility to identify and stop Islamophobia."

Shooting at Virginia Tech

"At LEAST 30 are dead after a shooting at Virginia Tech University Monday morning. 30+ killed 30+ injured in the shooting.

Campus police said there was only one shooter and he is now dead. They are unsure if the shooter was a student.(Yea!!!!! So glad he's dead save everyone the time of trying him.)

"Today the university was struck by a tragedy we consider of monumental proportions," Virginia Tech President Charles Steger said during a press conference shortly after noon. "I cannot begin to convey my own personal sense of loss over this senseless, incomprehensible, heinous act."

The number is growing, as of an hour ago they were saying 9 were killed.

This is a massive tragedy. Why can't these psychos just off themselves. Why must they take others with them?

General Petraeus' Letter to the Iraqi People

To the Iraqi People:

Monday, April 9, 2007 will mark the 4th anniversary of the liberation of Iraq from Saddam Hussein's regime. For many in Iraq and around the world, it will be a time for reflection on the early days after liberation in 2003 and on what has transpired since then.

As one of those who was part of the "fight to Baghdad,” I remember well the hopes and dreams of the Iraqi people when coalition soldiers pulled down Saddam’s statue in Firdos Square in April 2003. Looking back, I recall a sense of enormous promise -- promise that, in many respects and for a variety of reasons, has yet to be fully realized. If we are honest with each other, in fact, we will acknowledge that while there have been substantial accomplishments in Iraq since 2003, the past four years have also been disappointing, frustrating, and increasingly dangerous in many parts of Iraq for those who have been involved in helping to build a new state in this ancient land.

On this April 9th, some Iraqis reportedly may demonstrate against the coalition force presence in Iraq. That is their right in the new Iraq. It would only be fair, however, to note that they will be able to exercise that right because coalition forces liberated them from a tyrannical, barbaric regime that never would have permitted such freedom of expression.

Those who take to the streets should recall, moreover, that were it not for the actions of coalition forces in 2003 (and, to be sure, actions by Iraqi, as well as coalition, forces since then), they also would not have been able to celebrate the recent religious holidays as they did in such massive numbers. Nor would they have been able to select their leaders by free and democratic elections, vote on their constitution, or take at least the initial steps toward establishment of a government that is representative of, and responsive to, all Iraqis.

It is particularly important to me that "Najafis,” the citizens of Najaf, recall these facts, for in 2003 I was privileged to command the 101st Airborne Division, the unit that liberated the holy city of Najaf and its sister city, Kufa. The battle of Najaf was, in fact, our first significant combat action in Iraq. Following its conclusion, we went on to defeat the elements of Saddam's army and the Saddam Fedayeen that fought us in Kifl, Karbala, and Al Hillah, before securing and stabilizing southern Baghdad, Haditha, and, eventually, Mosul and Ninevah Province. Our soldiers sacrificed greatly to give the Najafis and millions of other Iraqis the freedoms, however imperfect they may be, that they enjoy today.

While the establishment of the new Iraq has included a number of noteworthy achievements, it has also had its share of setbacks. Indeed, the coalition's efforts have not been without mistakes. I acknowledged a number of them during my appearance before the Senate Armed Services Committee in January.

I would add, however, that the coalition has, at the least, consistently sought to learn from its mistakes. And, when those mistakes have involved unacceptable conduct, coalition authorities have taken administrative and legal action against those responsible. The coalition has, despite its occasional missteps, worked hard to serve all Iraqis and to bolster those who support a new Iraq founded on the principles now enshrined in the Iraqi Constitution.

Iraq, four years after liberation, faces serious challenges. The sectarian violence that escalated after the Samarra mosque bombing in 2006 was an enormous setback. Indeed, it tore the very fabric of Iraqi society. The damage done is still readily apparent in various neighborhoods of Baghdad and in many areas outside the capital.

Now Iraqi and coalition security forces are engaged in a renewed effort to improve security for the Iraqi people and to provide Iraq's leaders an opportunity to come to grips with the tough issues that must be dealt with to help foster reconciliation among the people of Iraq and to enable achievement of conditions that permit the withdrawal of coalition forces.

As the commander of the coalition forces in Iraq, and having given some 2-1/2 years of my life to this endeavor, I would like to take this opportunity to call for support of the new security plan. I ask all Iraqis to reject violence and the foreigners who fuel it with their money, arms, ammunition, training, and misguided young men. Beyond that, I ask, as well, for all Iraqis to notify Iraqi or coalition forces when those who would perpetrate violence on their fellow citizens or security forces enter their neighborhoods.

Coalition soldiers liberated Iraq from Saddam's "Republic of Fear." Now Iraqis must reject those who seek to drive wedges between people who have, in the past, lived in harmony in the Land of the Two Rivers. This is a time for Iraqis to demonstrate to the world their innate goodness, their desire to respect those of other sects and ethnic groups, and their wish to stitch back together the fabric of Iraqi society. Only in this way can Iraqis make the most of the opportunity that Iraqi and coalition security forces are striving to give them. And only in this way can the dreams of those who live in a country so rich in blessings and promise be fully realized.

Hello fellow Red Voicer's. I apoligize up front for the totally off topic post but an explanation is in order. The last few weeks have been very stressful for my wife and I.

Our daughter was born with Tracheo atresia and Tracheo-esophageal fistula and was in the NICU for 15 days, My lack of posting dates much farther back than the birth but Amber had problems before then. Needless to say Politics and news have been thrown to the back burner for the near future as I learn to care for our new baby Olivia, I blogged the entire hospital stay, the defect and surgery at my personal site I apoligize for the lack of posting and am unable to promise any further posts. I hate to resign, but unless ya'll want sporatic posting about something other than Politics than I must. It is totally up to ya'll. I enjoyed posting here for the little that I did. I never was the best blogger anyway, just a guy with an opinion.

So I was sitting at work the other day just programming along when my wife sent me the link to the following article. I had never heard of Chuck Baldwin before, but as I read, my very thoughts on this subject crystalized in this article. Chuck's website can be found at http://www.chuckbaldwinlive.com. Just to head the Bush bashing off at the pass, Mr. Baldwin is speaking of both Republican and Democratic political leaders, so that would include Pelosi, Obama, Clinton (Mr. with the dress), and their ilk too. So, without further ado:

Who Looks Foolish, Alamo Heroes or Us?

On this date back in 1836, the Alamo fell. For more than 13 days, 186 brave and determined patriots withstood Santa Anna's seasoned army of over 4,000 troops. To a man, the defenders of that mission fort knew they would never leave those ramparts alive. They had several opportunities to leave and live. Yet, they chose to fight and die. How foolish they must look to this generation of spoiled Americans.

It is difficult to recall that stouthearted men such as Davy Crockett (a nationally known frontiersman and former Congressman), Will Travis (only 23 years old with a little baby at home), and Jim Bowie (a wealthy landowner with properties on both sides of the Rio Grande) really existed. These were real men with real dreams and real desires. Real blood flowed through their veins. They loved their families and enjoyed life as much as any of us. There was something different about them, however. They possessed a commitment to liberty that transcended personal safety and comfort.

Liberty is an easy word to say, but it is a hard word to live up to. Freedom has little to do with financial gain or personal pleasure. Accompanying Freedom is her constant and unattractive companion, Responsibility. Neither is she an only child. Patriotism and Morality are her sisters. They are inseparable; destroy one and all will die.

Early in the siege, Travis wrote these words to the people of Texas: "Fellow Citizens & Compatriots: I am besieged by a thousand or more of the Mexicans under Santa Anna. . . . The enemy has demanded a surrender at discretion, otherwise the garrison are to be put to the sword . . . I have answered the demand with a cannon shot & our flag still waves proudly from the walls. I shall never surrender or retreat. . . . VICTORY OR DEATH! P.S. The Lord is on our side. . . ."

As you read those words, remember that Travis and the others did not have the A.C.L.U., P.E.T.A., People for the un-American Way, and the National Education Association telling them how intolerant and narrow-minded their notions of honor and patriotism were. A hostile media did not constantly castigate them as a bunch of wild-eyed extremists. As school children, they were not taught that their forefathers were nothing more than racist jerks.

The brave men at the Alamo labored under the belief that America (and Texas) really was "the land of the free and the home of the brave." They believed God was on their side and that the freedom of future generations depended on their courage and resolve. They further believed their posterity would remember their sacrifice as an act of love and devotion. It all looks pale now.

By today's standards, the gallant men of the Alamo appear rather foolish. After all, they had no chance of winning-none. However, the call for pragmatism and practicality was never sounded. Instead, they answered the clarion call, "Victory or death!"

Please try to remember the heroes of the Alamo as you watch our gutless political and religious leaders surrender to compromise and political correctness. Try to recall the time in this country when ordinary men and women had the courage of their convictions and were willing to sacrifice their lives for freedom and independence.

One thing is certain: those courageous champions at the Alamo did not die for a political party or for some "lesser of two evils" mantra. They fought and died for a principle, and that principle was liberty and independence. So did the men at Lexington and Concord. That is our heritage.

Today, however, our national leaders are in the process of turning America over to the very forces that the Alamo defenders gave their lives resisting. On second thought, do they look foolish, or do we?

You'd think the Oscar winner for An Inconvenient Truth would do a better job of practicing what he preaches, but the Tennessee Center for Policy Research has found that Gore's 20-room, 8-bathroom mansion consumes more electricity per month than the average American household uses in an entire year according to the Nashville Electric Service (NES).

In his "documentary," Al calls on Americans to conserve energy by reducing energy consumption at home.

Since the release of his "documentary," Al's energy consumption increased from an average of 16,200 kWh/month to 18,400 kWh/month. That's a 13.5% INCREASE against the conservation he ~~thinks~~ supposes real American's ought to achieve.

As it turns out, Al paid nearly $30,000 in combined electricity and natural gas bills for his Nashville digs in 2006.

So, which Inconvenient Reality is it: Al's appeal fell on his own un-American ears - leaving him exempt from his own appeal, he is a hypocrite, or both?

I Hate The NYT

Now, beside being treasonous bastards, the Times now show the shooting deaths of our men in Iraq, without even letting the family know first. I watched the video and was crying, I didn't know Sgt. Leija and my heart was broken. Can you imagine how his family feels?

"A photograph and videotape of a Texas soldier dying in Iraq published by the New York Times have triggered anger from his relatives and Army colleagues".

The family didn't even know. The video is graphic and I'd just as soon not have watched it.

I remember the first day Hector walked into 1st platoons CP in Blackhawk Company back in the Spring of 2003. A very young, well-built Staff Sergeant, still proudly sporting his Big Red One patch. Despite facing the challenges of being a new soldier in a well unified unit, he quickly overcame every obstacle put before him. SSG Leija first took me under his wing when we were in Samarra. I was fortunate enough to work side by side with him throughout the toughest period of my career. Hector was also a witness at my marriage ceremony. This was his first step as the best man of my big upcoming family wedding upon redeployment this summer. It will be hard to find someone to fill your void because you can never be replaced.

They will now forever see the images of his blood on the floor of a filthy kitchen on Haifa St. F*ck you NYT, f*ck you long time.

I have to admit, when I went to Hillary Clinton's official campaign website I got a little scared. Seeing "Hillary for President" across the top of her site is enough to scare the crap out of any conservative. Electing Hillary as President in 2008 is no different than giving Bill Clinton a 3rd term, in my opinion.

There is a really good chance that the dopey Democrats will nominate her as their 2008 Presidential candidate. But, the good thing is that I don't think she is likable enough to be elected President. For example, every time I see her on TV see looks pissed.

Hillary is also an ultra extreme liberal nut job who wants to increase the size of our government even more. The Republicans have not been helping us conservatives decrease the size of government, but with Hillary as President expect our already BIG Government to get even bigger.

Our founding father's founded our great nation on the idea of "Limited-Government". Which of course no longer exists, sadly.

We need real conservatism to be injected back into Washington, NOT Hillary Clinton as President.

An American GI assigned to one of the harshest posts in Iraq had a simple request last week for a Wisconsin mattress company: send some floor mats to help ease the hardship of sleeping on the cold, bug-infested ground.

Army Sgt. Jason Hess sent an e-mail to Discount-mats.com:
"Do you ship to APO (military) addresses? I'm in the 1st Cavalry Division stationed in Iraq and we are trying to order some mats but we are looking for ships to APO first."

On the same day, Hess received this reply:

We do not ship to APO addresses, and even if we did, we would NEVER ship to Iraq. If you were sensible, you and your troops would pull out of Iraq.

Foragainst ... Again

Once again, the Hypo-crats of the Democrat party are striking out with their Foragainst blunders.

On December 5, Newsweek reported that Pelosi's pick for incoming Intelligence Chairman Silvestre Reyes said he "wants to see an increase of 20,000 to 30,000 U.S. troops as part of a stepped up effort to dismantle the militias... We have to consider the need for additional troops to be in Iraq, to take out the militias and stabilize Iraq," the Texas Democrat said to the surprise of many, "I would say 20,000 to 30,000."

Last week, President Bush announced a plan that honors the Democrat Reyes' wishes.

How, then, does Reyes respond? He tells the El Paso times, "We don't have the capability to escalate even to this minimum level."

We know how the rest of the party is responding to the Reyes... er... the Bush plan.

You'll recall Reyes earlier faux pas about Al Qaeda being "predominantly, probably Shi'ite." This, from our Intelligence Chief chosen by Pelosi. If the guy can't identify or understand the problem, how in the hell is he supposed to study or solve the problem?!

In the same interview, Reyes was asked about Hezbollah to which he responded, "Hezbollah. Uh, Hezbollah? ... Why do you ask me these questions at 5 o'clock? Can I answer in Spanish? Do you speak Spanish?"

Yeah, Democrat, you can answer in Spanish. Repeat after me... in Spanish. "Would you like fries with that?" Reyes has no more business as our Intelligence Chief as the fry-jockey at Jack-in-the-Box. Prove me wrong!

These fucking NIMRODS bitch for years about a "losing" war when they wont identify what a win looks like. Then, they turn around and present "solutions" that the President announces, only to criticize the President's plan that their own Intelligence Chief promoted!

Thanks Blue State America. Thanks for supporting us troops by putting your Foragainst Hypo-crat Nimrods in office who haven't the backbone to stand behind their own recommendations.

Y'all have a beautiful way of supporting us troops.

What we need to be asking is, what happens if we lose? And no one will answer that question. If we lose, how are we going to mitigate the consequences of this?

Why aren't you asking that very important question Pamela?

...we're not asking the central national security question, because it seems that if as a reporter you do ask the national security question, all of a sudden you're carrying Bush's water. There are national security questions at stake, and we're ignoring them and the country is getting screwed.

Nancy Pelosi has chosen Rep. Silvestre Reyes of Texas to head the Intelligence Committee when Democrats begin calling the shots in January.

When asked a series of basic questions about Al Qaeda and Hezbollah (those are two prominent terrorist organizations - for those of you on the left who haven't taken advantage of the clue-redistribution plan y'all have been desperately needing), "Silver" - as they call him - blew it.

When asked whether Al Qaeda was Sunni or Shiite, Reyes answered "they are probably both," then bombed with "predominantly - probably Shiite."

Sorry, Sliv... they're Sunni, founded by Usama bin Laden, a Sunni... and they view Shiites as heretics.

Pelosi's pick also blew questions on Hezbollah.

This is the guy Pelosi wants to question the administration on what's happening in the War on Terror?! This is the guy they're going to put out front to lead our Intel efforts?! Are you F-ing kidding me?!

Pedophiles are treated better than this! I am just shocked! A little boy, not even kindergarten age is being punished for hugging her because they 'allege' that he rubbed his face on her chest! Who has the sick and twisted mind here? It certainly isn't the innocent little child who knows no other way to hug. I wonder if this aide has a problem with strippers? Where did that come from? A U.S. Marine and his date were killed by an illegal immigrant who was intoxicated to oblivion. To be exact his blood alcohol was FOUR times the legal limit, measuring .32! They were slammed from behind, I can only assume they must have been at a stop light but jeez! How fast was this jerk going?

"Marine Cpl. Brian Mathews, 21, of Columbia and his date, Jennifer Bower, 24" were killed on Thanksgiving night!

What's worse is Mathews had just returned from 8 months in Iraq. It's pretty bad when he reaches his home turf safely only to be killed by some f*** who's in this country illegally!!!!

And even worse, this same illegal immigrant was involved in ANOTHER non-injury accident back in February. He couldn't walk straight but cops allowed him to go with a relative and just let it slide. Because of lack of evidence, nothing was done!

"Although Maryland law requires an automatic 120-day forfeiture of a drivers license for refusing the test, Morales-Soriano's license was not suspended after the accident".

"Prosecutors dropped all charges in the February accident due to "weak evidence," allowing Morales-Soriano to recover his seized license from the police and to avoid a fine and points added to his license."

An intrepid video blogger wanted to find out why so he went to the festival to ask some of the people there if Chicago hated the baby Jesus. His video response would be funny if it were a parody, but it isn't. There are actually people out in the world that think that Christmas is a holiday that should be for all faiths. Christmas has been so commercialized that sometimes I wonder if even Christian's understand the reason for the season. It has noothing to do with giving presents to each other. I apologize to the readers and other blogger's here at The Red Voice for the lack of any activity from me. The wife is pregnant and was suffering from Hyperemesis gravidarum. Hopefully we are over that hurdle. The Doctor assures us the baby is fine and gaining appropriate weight, The blog-wife is still five pounds under her pre pregnancy weight but we hope to make that up soon. We do know that the baby is a little girl whom we have chosen to name Olivia Danielle., a beautiful name in my opinion. As a result of this I have had blogging apathy and more importantly Political Apathy which was not helped in the least by the great strides made by the Socialist' in the last election.

Again sorry for the lack of posting and I sincerely hope to turn that around in the near future.

If a young fella has an option of having a decent career or joining the army to fight in Iraq, you can bet your life that he would not be in Iraq.

And how eerily similar the two men sound. Wrong and idiotic, but similar.

No doubt this post will give Loflyte another chance to accuse me of calling signals from Karl Rove's "playbook." However, I'm afraid that says more about his inability to see the truth in front of his face than it does about my political affiliations.

If we need a more local example, here's one: My daughter (Grave Disappointment #1) is currently in the recruiting process for the National Guard. She has wanted to join the guard since before she was politically aware and her desire to serve prompted study on Iraq. Despite problems there, she still has a strong desire to go and, as she says, help Iraqi's become self-sustaining. This revelation prompted a now ex-friend of hers to call her a "tool for George Bush" in an e-mail, before ending with this tag:

you are stupid and i guess when you die at war... well at least we didnt loose an intelligent american who could do our country some good.

Indeed. The left loves the military. How could I have been so misguided? Thank goodness the military is now guided by these truly intelligent Americans, who have such deep respect and admiration for their sacrifice.

We should also be grateful their intelligence has begun to rub off on the next generation of smart Americans.

6)Sean, just 24 years old, and his daughter Sage, 5 months old, were killed February 27 by a drunk illegal alien who was driving the wrong way on Highway 84 in Idaho.

7)Marc Atkinson was just 28 when he was shot and killed in a 1999 ambush by an illegal alien from Mexico. The killer, Felipe Petrona-Cabanas, had around a pound of cocaine in his car when apprehended with two other Mexican nationals. The three came from a farming area in the state of Guerrero near Acapulco, and said they came to the United States to work but couldn't find any. Oh, they're just hard workers, looking for a job.

8) Randy Burris died a hero, saving the lives of a young mother and her baby, as Randy pushed Heather Carlson's baby carriage from the path of a car careening out of control. Randy was the father of three children and had struck up a conversation with Heather about her dog. The car was driven by a drunk illegal alien, Ricardo Arriaga-Gutierrez, whose blood alcohol level was three times the legal limit even several hours after the accident. After running Randy Burris down, Arriaga-Gutierrez fled the scene, hid the car in another county and went to a party to establish an alibi.

9)Victoria Hen was a victim of terrorism in America. She was shot and killed as she sat at her desk by Hesham Mohamed Hadayet on July 4, 2002, at the El Al ticket counter in Los Angeles International Airport.The LAX shooter was born in Egypt and lived here for a time as an illegal alien and was even considered for deportation until he got lucky when his wife won the Diversity Lottery. Even though Hadayet went to LAX armed to the teeth, expressed anti-American and anti-Israeli views and shot six people before he was killed by security, it took nine months for the FBI to call the crime an act of terrorism.

10)Oceanside Officer Tony Zeppetella was a rookie cop, who had been in the department just over a year, when he was shot three times and killed in a credit union parking lot by Adrian George Camacho, a Mexican illegal alien with a long criminal record. It was a gruesome crime.

The Center for Public and Media Affairs recently published a report (pdf) that shows the networks orchestrated the most biased news coverage, perhaps in history, in 2006.

Talk about your election fixing. 77% of stories that appeared on the networks regarding Democrats were positive, while only one 1 of 8 stories about Republicans was positive.

It is highly doubtful that the Democrats could have won the election if the networks had played it straight rather than performing their own brand of election fraud.

The good news is that the MSM's influence is dwindling with each passing day. With any luck, 2006 was the last election in which they will be allowed to engineer a victory for their pals.

Do everything in your power to hasten that demise. No companies which have so blatantly and purposely disregarded their duty to the public deserve support.

That Senator's "Apology"

As a combat veteran, I want to make it clear to anyone in uniform and to their loved ones: my poorly stated joke at a rally was not about, and never intended to refer to any troop.

I sincerely regret that my words were misinterpreted to wrongly imply anything negative about those in uniform, and I personally apologize to any service member, family member, or American who was offended.

It is clear the Republican Party would rather talk about anything but their failed security policy. I don’t want my verbal slip to be a diversion from the real issues. I will continue to fight for a change of course to provide real security for our country, and a winning strategy for our troops.

Look more closely... That Senator does not apologize for his mistake. He apologizes that other people, he suggests, misinterpreted his words. This is nothing but a wannabe elitist trick to fool the people into believing that he has made an appropriate apology.

Guess what, Senator. One of the dumb ass troops you refered to has your number and sees right through your ~~apology~~ tripe.

Apology not accepted, asshole. This is nothing but a lame-assed attempt to put the blame on others while ignoring your own wrong doing. That you still think we're too stupid to see through that further solidifies what you think of us.

Of course, that is not to suggest that he is as dumb, or as lazy, as the average American troop.

Thank God I don't live in Omaha

Yep, I'm a smoker. So what! That is my choice. Those who don't smoke, well, stay the hell away from me then! The new law in Omaha, Nebraska has got to be one of the looniest ones yet!

And what's worse is that they want the people to clog up the 9-1-1 line with reports of smokers. How is that a damn emergency?!! How many people would die because the lines would be tied up with the reports of non-smokers? Stupid!

I do hope to be a non-smoker by the beginning of next year but I cannot nor will not infringe upon the right of another who chooses to do damage to their own internal organs. I can understand no smoking in enclosed areas, have always been a pretty considerate smoker when around others who don't smoke but honestly...this is just going a little too far!

Why not crack down on drunks who kill others because of their stupidity of taking to the road and killing others? Like perhaps keeping them monitored or locked up...forever? Why not lock up illegal aliens who murder or molest or smuggle drugs or simply just live in this country illegally instead of jailing the border patrol for trying to protect our country from foreign CRI-MI-NALS? Actual criminals!!!!!

I do believe tax dollars could be better spent, that the obsession with the 'affect' of smoking has gotten way too extreme.

Perhaps Ford will change his campaign slogan to "No integrity. No character. No class. No clue. No plan. No hope. And no future."

While I pat them on the back for bringing their kids together, the point seems to not be about a playgroup for the kids but for these 'like-minded' parents. Isn't that just so 21st century. And these, the people who are so into diversity, forming their own little democratic group, wow, now that's diversity.

Parents who want to add some political zip to outings with their children might consider the new Tucson Democratic Playgroup.

Golda Velez came up with the idea to provide like-minded parents with an outlet for political discussions. Velez, a home-based computer programmer with two children, also hopes the new group can become politically active.

"We'll let the kids play while we can talk about politics and be effective," said Velez, who was the Southern Arizona volunteer coordinator for 2004 presidential candidate John Kerry.
"Parents always chat. Now we can chat with a purpose."

Velez, 36, said that while other play groups she knows of are nonpartisan, parents attending this one would be exposed to ideas and discussions related to the Democratic Party. However, she said, even within those boundaries there will be differing views and that's welcome.

For example, she said, she doesn't label herself a liberal as others might.

"I'm more of a secular humanist than a liberal," she said. "And I might be to the right of some people here on issues like Iraq or abortion."

Allison Lee, an attorney and mother of two who works part time from home, said the group offers a chance to do two important things at once.

"This is a way to multitask and let the kids play and also pick up the scoop on this candidate or that issue," said Lee, 40.

She said that when she meets with other parents whose children attend Tucson Community School, as her older daughter does, discussions often turn to politics.

"We fill each other in. The election is coming and it's 'what have you heard about this proposition or that proposition?' " she said.

Diane Scanzaroli Blackett, a mother of two and part-time physician's assistant, said she is attracted to the idea of being around like-minded parents.

Recent changes in her husband's work means they are not able to be as politically active as before, she said, so she sees this as a new outlet.

Since President Bush took office, Blackett said she has become increasingly uncomfortable with the country's political climate.

"I don't want to feel like we don't have any power," said Blackett, 43.

Velez said meeting with other parents who share similar views will help keep important issues at the forefront.

"I feel really strongly about this. This is for the kids," she said. "This is their future."

Andy Stevens, a home-based massage therapist and father of an infant girl, describes himself as a moderate Democrat. He said he learned about the new play group online.

In some social settings, Stevens, 36, said he finds himself to be the "closet environmentalist" among people with more conservative views.

Like Blackett, he said he looks forward to being with other people with whom he can "speak honestly and not have to worry about getting into a fight about it."

Plucking a feather from the cap of Global Warming alarmists and "the sky is falling" enthusiasts, Detroit and Chicago have set records for their earliest annual snow fall, beating previous records from 1909 and 1972, respectively.

Yeah, I know the daily weather isn't "climate change," but this is the same kind of anecdote the alarmists are using when they gripe about the hot weather on any given day. Turnabout is a bitch.

Show me a credible scientific report with a methodology that isn't so utterly bollixed that it reeks of John Heinz-Kerry and Chappaquiddick Ted's ultra-partisan politics, and on top of record-early snowfall I'll show you reports of growing glaciers resulting from increased snowfall and lower average summer temperatures as the result of this "global warming" - soon to be published by the American Meteorological Society's Journal of Climate.

I have more to write, but I've gotta go warm up my SUV...

AUSTIN -- The president's most vocal critic against the war in Iraq was in the Capitol City Wednesday night.

Cindy Sheehan was at BookPeople on Lamar & 6th Street signing autographs for her new book entitled “Peace Mom”.

Sheehan’s son, Casey Sheehan died while on patrol in Iraq on April 4 , 2005.

“Whether you agree with it or not I think we should all be reading books by the families of people who’ve loss their sons and daughters in this war,” said Turk Pipkin who was buying one of Sheehan’s books.

His mother bought a house in Crawford where she and her supporters often protests near President George Bush’s ranch.

“What I really hope to do with it is to inspire people to do what they can to make the world a better place and to let them know that one person really can make a difference,” Cindy Sheehan.

Sheehan also announced at the signing that she’s a finalist for a Nobel Peace Prize.

A Florida woman has been awarded $11.3 million in a defamation lawsuit against a Louisiana woman who posted messages on the Internet accusing her of being a "crook," a "con artist" and a "fraud."

Legal analysts say the Sept. 19 award by a jury in Broward County, Fla. — first reported Friday by the Daily Business Review — represents the largest such judgment over postings on an Internet blog or message board. Lyrissa Lidsky, a University of Florida law professor who specializes in free-speech issues, calls the award "astonishing."

BEWARE OF BLOGS: Courts are asked to crack down on bloggers, websites

Lidsky says the case could represent a coming trend in court fights over online messages because the woman who won the damage award, Sue Scheff of Weston, Fla., pursued the case even though she knew the defendant, Carey Bock of Mandeville, La., has no hope of paying such an award. Bock, who had to leave her home for several months because of Hurricane Katrina, couldn't afford an attorney and didn't show up for the trial.

"What's interesting about this case is that (Scheff) was so vested in being vindicated, she was willing to pay court costs," Lidsky says. "They knew before trial that the defendant couldn't pay, so what's the point in going to the jury?"

Scheff says she wanted to make a point to those who unfairly criticize others on the Internet. "I'm sure (Bock) doesn't have $1 million, let alone $11 million, but the message is strong and clear," Scheff says. "People are using the Internet to destroy people they don't like, and you can't do that."

The dispute between the two women arose after Bock asked Scheff for help in withdrawing Bock's twin sons from a boarding school in Costa Rica. Bock had disagreed with her ex-husband over how to deal with the boys' behavior problems. Against Bock's wishes, he had sent the boys to the boarding school.

Scheff, who operates a referral service called Parents Universal Resource Experts, says she referred Bock to a consultant who helped Bock retrieve her sons. Afterward, Bock became critical of Scheff and posted negative messages about her on the Internet site Fornits.com, where parents with children in boarding schools for troubled teens confer with one another.

In 2003, Scheff sued Bock for defamation. Bock hired a lawyer, but he left the case when she no longer could afford to pay him.

When Katrina hit in August 2005, Bock's house was flooded and she moved temporarily to Texas before returning to Louisiana last June. Court papers that Scheff and her attorney David H. Pollack mailed to Bock were returned to Pollack's office in Miami.

After Bock didn't offer a defense, a Broward Circuit Court judge found in favor of Scheff. A jury then heard Scheff's arguments about damages. Pollack did not seek a specific amount for the harm he says Scheff's business suffered.

"Even with no opposing counsel and no defendant there, $11 million is a huge amount," says Pollack, adding that Scheff is considering whether to try to collect any money from Bock. "The jury determined this was a significant enough issue. It's not just somebody's feelings are hurt; it's somebody's reputation is ruined."

Bock says that when she moved back to her repaired house over the summer, she knew the trial was approaching but did not know the date. She says she doesn't have the money to pay the judgment or hire a lawyer to appeal it. She adds that if the goal of Scheff's lawsuit was to stifle what Bock says online, it worked.

"I don't feel like I can express my opinions," Bock says. "Only one side of the story was told in court. Nobody heard my side."

Breaking news on the story behind the Foley story. Sources close Mark Foley's IM "page-pal" are claiming that the IMs were part of a prank. We'll have to see on that. Drudge claims to have corroborating sources.

It is also now being said that he was 18 years of age, which is still twisted, but not illegal. That hasn't stopped a Minnesota candidate of accusing the GOP of conspiring to protect a child molester.

"Congressional leaders have admitted to covering up the predatory behavior of a congressman who used the internet to molest children.”

Nancy Pelosi has had plenty to say. Most recently she "demanded that Republican leaders be questioned under oath about what they knew of Foley's conduct." Forgetting for a moment that she voted in favor of Gerry Studds five times for chairman positions after she knew he was guilty of date rape, it is starting to look more and more like it might be Democrats who need to be under oath as per her demand. Also, it looks like Democrats are blocking efforts to investigate the page program.

Of course it has been a particularily brisk season for slime overall, what with the whole "N-word" and "You're Jewish! Admit it!" attack against George Allen, actual crimes committed against Michael Steele, and the worst by far, a despicable sliming of Jeanne Pirro.

For those of you unaware, Pirro's opponents leaked sealed wire taps for the sole purpose of embarassing her privately.

And why not? Stealing financial records and sliming opponents a month before an election is certainly a lot easier than other things that could have occupied the Democratic Party these last two years...like agreeing on a platform.

Lee Giles - Child Rapist

August 2006 - Retired Tacoma Police Officer and former Crimestoppers Spokesman Lee Giles and his girlfriend Maureen Wear are accused of creating more than 20 videotapes of themselves sexually abusing children, to include Wear's son who claims "he was made to perform sex acts with his mother." Giles is charged with repeatedly raping the boy over close to 9 years.

September 2006 - Prosecutors have searched Giles' home and found videotapes from a child molestation case Giles had investigated in 1991. The perpetrator in that crime, Robert Miller, pleaded guilty to child molestation and videotaping the crimes. Prosecutors say there are 21 new tapes that will be used to file new charges against Giles.

October 2006 - Giles' tally of charges includes: 26 counts of child rape, molestation, voyeurism, child pornography, and possession of stolen property. These charges include the sexual abuse of two young girls entrusted to Giles' care, who were only 3 and 7 years old at the time.

Police say Giles video taped everything. Court documents also state "there are also multiple videotaped incidents of Giles assisting and filming (his girlfriend) molesting (the two young girls)." ... "(The 3-year old girl) cries through portions of the molestation that follows."

Unfortunately, the child rapist and former police officer is being kept away from the general population in the Pierce County jail. That's too bad... it's about time someone like that becomes someone's bitch.

Writhe in hell, Giles. I hope one of your many new boyfriends rips your junk off, then shoves it down your throat and suffocates you with it - you piece of shit!

Out of Thin Air

Well this is certainly one of the most unique news stories I have read in a while. Radar traces the backstory on Mark Foley - who we all agree gives us the shudders - to a blog called Stop Sex Predators.

SSP is the most basic of blogger templates and in fact is the exact template from which this blog evolved, except for the background color. The "links" section still contains the stock "Google me," and "edit me" buttons inserted as part of the template. The blogger profile is empty.

Radar describes SSP as "virtually indetectible to Google."

Yet the blog was highlighted by none other than Dailykos 12 minutes after Foley's emails were posted. The author at Kos claims to be a White House intern. He also claims to have Googled SSP.

What's the deal here?

This is a virtually unheard of blog whose author hasn't been motivated enough to add a single sidebar link or any of the standard motiff, fill out a profile, change the look of the blog even a tiny bit, or...anything.

After just a handful of posts over the summer, a hot, hot, hot entry on "skinterns" appears on Sept. 5, before SSP goes dark again until a Sept. 21 article with this lede:

I have been away for a while, so please accept my apologies for the lack of blog posts. BUT....while I was away, the blog has been noticed and some shocking emails have been received!!!!

The emails describe not a pedophile, but merely a homosexual. Granted, he is a very aggressive one and likes young interns way too much. One author ran into him at a gay bar after freshman year in college, another was reporting secondhand that Foley liked gay bars, locker rooms, and "he especially likes teenage boys," and a third is a man who claims he was hit on by Foley only after he left DC at the end of his internship.

At that point it was more of an "outing" than anything else.

Later that day are scanned faxes of e-mails, 12 minutes later an "intern" at Kos "Googles" the e-mails, and the story grows from there.

In response to breaking this DC bombshell, SSP has not responded to any e-mails from media wanting to know more.

The mere presence of Kos is enough to create suspicion as to the timing of the story, but add an "undetectable" blog Googled 12 minutes after posting and it enters the realm of the unbelievable.

Big stories have been broken by blogs before. Whoppers like Memogate, green helmet guy, cauterizing ambulances, Eason Jordan, and others. In all of those cases though, the authors had the credibility of transparency and/or a track record of accuracy, and provided all necessary research and sourcing.

Don't get me wrong, it is a damn fine thing that Foley is busted and out of there, but the timing and sources are highly suspicious. The assertions don't add up. How did this undetectable blog suddenly get so popular for Mark Foley gossip? How did Kos really find the story?

It has October Surprise written all over it, and doesn't even seem a very clever one. If it is, I wonder how long its authors have been hanging on to it. Long enough for a few more teenage interns to get groped perhaps?

Somebody needs to start providing some answers.

What is it about the muslims that I don't understand? I mean, don't they kill others for Allah? Don't they hate Americans? Weren't the highjackers Muslim? Or the other 'minor' attacks on the WTC by Muslims or the USSCole, killing a film maker in the Netherlands, bombings of various US embassys, attacks on train stations, buses? What am I missing here?

By all accounts, the violence this group shows, the hatred they show towards my fellow citizens and their own for that matter, I, being who I am, feel they have no right to enjoy the same freedoms that I, as an American Citizen born and raised, do.

Granted, I haven't earned my rights by serving my country but even more so I respect, honor and cherish those rights granted to me. It's really the least I would expect of me or anyone else who hasn't actually served this country with heart, soul, honesty, integrity, honor, pride, or bravery. I guess my beliefs would be considered serving the integrity of what America stands for huh. Whether it be military, the police, or fireman or plain old firm-believing American Citizens...they all deserve to be honored.

Who allowed this man into this country? Of course who would have thought he would do something ... well, forget that.

Do I hate Muslims? Well, put it this way, I certainly don't like them very much but hate is pretty strong. But those who would come into this country and disrespect a 9/11 Memorial, that of a police officer who died trying to rescue victims in the WTC; well lets just say that people like him have no damn business in my country.

I admit, I've been known to whine about how men just have to whip it out where ever they go and go to the bathroom and how unfair it is. And how aggravating it is that the lines to the women's bathroom are a mile long while the guys just walk in and out.

Thank goodness we don't live in Norway. I'm sure and hopeful that whoever is trying to enforce this rule will end up with 'idiot' stamped on their head but all the same, this has got to be the most outrageous, gender biased, thing I have read in awhile......

Whatever it is, it has sparked a huge political debate at a school in Kristiansand, Norway, according to Aftenposten.

The trigger for the explosion of opinion? A decision in the local district that schoolboys must sit on toilet seats when urinating, not stand.

According to the news report, the rule was announced for boys at Dvergsnes School, prompting outrage from Vidar Kleppe, the chief of The Democrats Party.

He's accusing the school of "fiddling with God's work," and now he wants the issue discussed at the executive committee level of the area council, according to the newspaper "Dagbladet."

"When boys are not allowed to pee in the natural way, the way boys have done for generations, it is meddling with God's work," Kleppe, whose group is a splinter group of former Progress Party hardliners, said in the newspaper.

"It is a human right not to have to sit down like a girl," he said.

On Kleppe's contentious "stand" on making political waves, no comment was the response from school principal Lise Gjul.

But she did tell Norwegian Broadcasting NRK that the restrooms are used by both boys and girls, and the young boys are not "good enough at aiming" in order to have "a pleasant toilet."

School officials are still listening to opinions on the issue."

Bread And Circuses: The Sad State Of Our Society

Okay, so I am finally going to write my first post for my MySpace blog. I will probably cross post this on The Red Voice, where I contribute, as well. It has taken me this long because I have so much I want to say and have been having trouble getting it into some semblance of order. Not sure if I have accomplished that or not, but here goes. By the way, this will be part rant, but hopefully not totally.

Something I read as a young adult has really stuck with me through the years of college, military service, and subsequent hourly and then career employment. It has colored my thinking, strengthened my resolve, and left me saddened at what I see around me. What I read was a book by Robert Heinlein called Starship Troopers. If you are thinking, “oh, I saw that movie”, forget it. The movie wasn’t worth the price to see it in the theatre. The book has been worn out, not only by subsequent rereads on my part, but also on the part of both of my sons, and my wife, who is not a science fiction fan.

I originally purchased this book because of its Science Fiction categorization, and because I had read other Heinlein books and enjoyed them. I was looking for a few weeks worth of reading enjoyment, followed by months if not years on a dusty bookshelf. What I found was a clear and concise expression of my whole patriotic belief system and outlook on civic responsibility. In the story of Juan Rico and his growth into manhood in the service of mankind, I found the lectures of his instructors and mentors teaching and molding me. I could have found no better direction in a textbook on the subject.

I don’t have any intention of providing a book report here. The reward of reading this book is in the book itself. Turn off the TV or computer or video game you are tied into and go pick this book up. You will not be disappointed. My point here is to summarize what this book opened up in me, and to grieve at the extreme lack of anything even close to resembling Juan Rico’s sense of duty within a large majority of United States citizenry today.

Starship Troopers was written in the mid 20^th century, from a future perspective looking back on our present times. How appalling I have found it that Heinlein was so accurate in his predictions of the decline of our society. How horrendous it is to find that we are living in a society where our young are taught by the mainstream media, the school systems, and by all forms of media that there is always someone else to blame, it is never your fault, and that society owes you something. Heinlein saw it coming. He saw a society where the most vocal, read “liberals” from our present society, fight for peoples right to not take responsibility, and proceed to weaken our society through their constant focus on their own agendas, not on what is best for our country as a whole.

One of Mr. Rico’s instructors provided a term for what the outlook of that society was. He referred to those people as people who wanted to vote themselves “bread and circuses”. This means that these people want all the privileges of their society without paying any of the costs inherent in maintaining the ability to have those privileges. Of course, they call these privileges rights, but we all know that is bunk. Who says these are their rights?

The civilization in this book eventually collapses into global war. When it finally begins to recover, the persons who step up and get things running again are former military. At the time of Mr. Rico’s experiences, this form of government has been in place for centuries. You can’t vote or serve in the government while you are in the military, only after you have completed you military service. Anyone who has not served is not allowed franchise. When a class instructor asked Mr. Rico’s class about this, the class voiced a number of absurd reasons. The actual reason floored me. Franchise was offered to these people because they had proven that they were willing to put the needs of their society above their own needs and wants. They were willing to sacrifice up to and including their lives to preserve their society. Wow, what a concept.

When I took up the mantle of military service, this concept was driven home even more. There were all kinds of initial reasons for people enlisting in the military. However, eventually, the majority of the service men and women I met during and after my tenure had a deep-seated sense of duty to their country. They were willing to literally or figuratively “pick up a weapon and stand a post”. As Demi Moore’s character in “A Few Good Men” states “they stand on a wall and say its okay, you are safe, I am here and nothing is going to hurt you tonight.” It started to occur to me that deep down, that same conviction stirred within me. I was willing to put it all on the line if it could provide even a semblance of safety for my fellow man. Finally, Heinlein’s words were clicking.

After I left the military, my family and I moved to the Deep South. Your next-door neighbor was the one who was more than willing to grab the rifle off the gun rack of his pick up and defend his property and yours. He was very serious about “you can have my gun when you pry it from m cold dead fingers”. This tended to keep me from being exposed to how sad our society had become.

When I had been out of the military for about 6 years, my family and I moved to Arizona, where I had grown up. I thought I was coming home. How wrong I was. I proceeded to go to work in an organization where I was pretty much the token conservative, token former military member, token Christian, and token Republican. I will have to let you know about my Republicanism. I don’t vote the party line, and I do vote for whomever I think will serve our country best, no matter what the party.

I proceeded to have to listen to my coworkers bash the military, bash the government, bash The President, and jump on the main stream media band wagon. This was coming from a bunch of people who would immediately scoff at the idea of him or her sacrificing anything for anyone else. It was always about how something affected them, not how it affected the nation as a whole, or even the world as a whole. The only time they got up on their soap boxes about something was when they thought it made them look good, when it was the new “IT” cause of the week/month.

I thought that maybe this was just a local thing. Maybe it was just my place of work. Maybe it was just Tucson. Finally I started realizing that this had become a national phenomenon. Here were people that had never had to sacrifice, and would never step up and defend this country, much less their own “rights”, complaining about the state of our country. Oh no, they didn’t offer solutions, or viable alternatives; all they did was complain, and lie.

The only constructive input I hear nowadays is from those who have sacrificed or are willing to sacrifice. Not just military. It doesn’t take serving in the military to develop the strength of character to be willing to sacrifice for others. There are many out there that have never, nor will ever put on a uniform, but they know of what I speak. Jesus Christ was the perfect example of that type of sacrifice. These and my brothers and sisters in the military are the ones who, along with myself, will consistently look to and vote for what is best for our nation and the world as a whole. We are the true patriots.

The rest of you will continue to pal around with the Michael Moores and Dixie Chicks of the world. You will continue to be part of the problem and not part of the solution. Well, if you wish to continue to vote yourself “Bread and Circuses” get out of our way; we patriots have a post to stand. What is the attraction? Are we to be one with animals too? Is that the ultimate goal? I wonder if a some woman could get pregnant. Imagine that, a human-horse combo.

Wow, I guess I never considered this as an option...animals don't speak, they don't whine, they don't dirty out clothes every week...hmmmm.

Well, you can all read more for yourselves but this is sick minded, completely unbelievable, and a desparate attempt to get laid or to abuse an animal. And how in the hell can people who LOOK like humans know if it hurts or scares an animal.

Europeans pay big for barnyard sex

Denmark's animal bordellos – in which people pay for sex with horses and other beasts – are advertising on the 'Net and drawing customers from as far away as Norway, Germany, Holland and Sweden.

As long as no one gets hurt – including the animals – Denmark won't prosecute. Neither Denmark and Norway have any laws banning the practice of bestiality – at least not yet.

The proprietors – and presumably customers as well – have convinced themselves and the governments involved that the animals are experienced and welcome the chance for this intimate interaction with another species.

Aftenposten and 24timer are reporting it costs between $85 and $170 for some animal action.

Torunn Knævelsrud, the Norwegian food safety authority's section chief for animal welfare, expressed skepticism that animals could welcome sex with people.

"It could be that the animals don't really care," Knævelsrud said. "But I think it is in the nature of the case that animals will often be victims of injury, stress or suffering in connection with sexual acts with humans. Either that they are held fast, or frightened, or suffer pain or physical injury."

The animal bordellos could soon find themselves forced underground, however. A new Norwegian Animal Protection Act is being considered that includes proposals from the Norwegian Animal Welfare Alliance and others prohibiting sexual intercourse with animals.

"The acts provoke moral disgust," Knævelsrud. "The question is whether immorality should be made illegal. The FSA group discussing the new animal protection act has been in disagreement about this."

A farmer who sells animal sex said he is extremely surprised that foreigners are ready to travel so far for it.

"But the clients tell us that it is much simpler to buy animal sex in Denmark than in their own country," a horse owner from Nord-Jylland told the newspaper.

A new dissertation from the Institute of Criminology at the University of Oslo showed that Norwegian veterinarians know of at least 124 cases of animal sex abuse in Norway. The thesis reports that 22 percent of Norwegian veterinarians suspect or are sure that they have treated animals that have been sexually abused by humans.

Peter Sandøe, chairman of the Council on the Ethical Treatment of Animals, said that it is difficult to determine the extent of the problem and how many owners actually lease their animals for sexual purposes.

"It's hard to get a handle on animal sex because the problem crosses over borders," he said. "I realize the phenomenon exists and has a certain scope, and that knowledge will be included in the discussions about how we think the law ought to be changed."

David Weigel, writing at Reasononline, has a wonderful look back at the Abramoff scandal that wasn't, "money in the freezer," and the very limp "culture of corruption" attacks. It includes some great quotes from writers making bold predictions about the upcoming fallout, like this from my favorite and yours, Frank Rich:

That's almost funny.

"They don't know Jack" is a good column that starkly illustrates exactly how out of touch the Senate and D.C. are with the American voter.

Fizzle-outs are becoming a fairly common occurence these days. Abramoff, Rove/Plame, Joe Wilson, Air America, Downing Street memos, pre-war intelligence, no tax cuts for the rich, and so on. I'm probably forgetting about a half a dozen.

These issues have two things in common. They are all political issues designed only to attain power through smear and innuendo. And, the sum of the issues is also the sum of what the Democratic Party has been doing the last six years.

Perhaps that's why the mid-term elections have tightened up so much. At the very least, America wants action on issues of security.

The Democrats seem afflicted by a coma-like state in which it's still Sept. 10, 2001. They believe that Americans are in the mood for amnesty and to spare terrorists the "torture" of loud music, cold rooms, or getting slapped in the face. They think the American voter wants to hold grand theoretical discussions on the finer points of civil liberties in the middle of a war.

But hey, it's not all bad news. All you readers out there raising a family on minimun wage would get a raise...to the new minimum wage.

I must say that I have no intention of watching The Path to 9/11 this weekend. Sunday is dedicated to the Manning Bowl and the Vikings open their season against the Redskins (gasp!) on Monday. Besides, I already know about Clinton's incompetence in dealing with terrorism.

But it has made an interesting study in Democratic fascism. The letter Senate Democrats sent ABC today is pretty appalling. It incuded this passage, a not-so-thinly-veiled threat:

Presenting such deeply flawed and factually inaccurate misinformation to the American public and to children would be a gross miscarriage of your corporate and civic responsibility to the law, to your shareholders, and to the nation.

The Communications Act of 1934 provides your network with a free broadcast license predicated on the fundamental understanding of your principle obligation to act as a trustee of the public airwaves in serving the public interest. Nowhere is this public interest obligation more apparent than in the duty of broadcasters to serve the civic needs of a democracy by promoting an open and accurate discussion of political ideas and events.

Captain Ed thinks it is a threat to take away ABC's broadcast license. I must say, that's what it sounds like to me. If airing the broadcast would be a miscarriage of law, than it stands to reason the Democrats are implying a punishment. The reference to CA of 1934 spells out the rest pretty clearly.

It's the kind of thing Democrats are always warning is the end result of Republican rule. Government dictatorship of information.

Of course, they wouldn't be doing this if there wasn't plenty to hide. IBD summarizes all of the missed opportunities of the Clinton administration and concludes:

It was the Clinton administration that could have put Osama bin Laden out of commission.

It was under Clinton that Americans were killed by terrorists on three continents without a meaningful response.

It was under Bill Clinton that we left Somalia in disgrace after dead Americans were dragged through the streets, giving bin Laden all the proof of our lack of will he needed.

And it was Clinton's deputy attorney general, Jamie Gorelick, who created the wall of separation between the FBI and CIA that kept us from connecting the information and preventing 9-11.

What's the word that describes all this? Ah, yes, incompetence.

If people knew that, it might change their vote this November. We can't have a little thing like reality messing up the Democrats plans for a sweep.

The funny thing is, I would never have thought to go over all of Clinton's failures again. Been there, done that, ready to move on. It is only the Democrats insistence that they dictate what we see on TV that has brought Clinton's terror response to light and put it center stage.

...the new data show that the bottom 50% of Americans in income -- U.S. households with an income below the median of $44,389 -- paid a smaller share of total income taxes in 2004 (3.3%) than in Bill Clinton's last year in office (3.9%). That 3.3% is the lowest share of total income taxes paid by the bottom half of earners in at least 30 years, and probably ever. The majority of American families with an income below $40,000 pay no income tax at all today, and many of them also get a welfare subsidy from the Earned Income Tax Credit that effectively offsets much of what they pay in payroll taxes.

By contrast, Americans with an income in the top 1% paid 36.9% of all federal income taxes in 2004, down slightly from 37.4% at what was the height of the dot-com boom in 2000. But the top 5% and 10% of earners saw an increase in their tax share over that same period, with the top 5%'s share rising to 57.1% in 2004 from 56.5% in 2000.

Remember that the next time some idiot tries to sell you that "tax cuts for the rich" nonsense. It's time for a new talking point.

Note that Corn does not use words like "thuggish" and "gang politics" these days and instead uses the benign phrase "administration critics." But exactly who turned out to be the thuggish gang here?

Joe Wilson: Liar.
Rove: innocent.
The State Department: Guilty but apparently not culpable.

Plan B = my kids new parent

Ok, time for a rant!!!!

I read a day or so ago that the morning after pill was ok'd for distribution over the counter for women 18 and older. Whatever, they're adults, they are old enough to make good adult decisions. **aaaahem**

Now, since this was ok'd, the next step is this:

"The maker of the morning after pill, along with women's groups and lawmakers, plans to press its success a step further, seeking to make the controversial abortion drug available without prescription to girls 17 and under."

There isn't much that can be done it seems when it comes to what is right and wrong as far as abortion. People have their beliefs, their views, their minds set. But when something is accomplished, it seems that people are always seeking more and more, pushing that issue more and more.

I didn't barely bat an eyelash at the idea of the FDA making this available, I thought that they had made a good compromise requiring those who seek it to walk up to the pharmacy counter, present valid proof of age, and do whatever they need to do. I am willing to be open minded but I don't necessarily have to agree with it. I mean really, the way things are changing one would have to be nuts not to be willing to accept some sort of change.

But now, I read this and it just angers me. Just knowing that there are those out there that advocate my kids living a consequence free life makes me want to hurl. But I guess I could look at it this way:

No, I do not want to be a grandmother, I do not want my kids to be mommy's and daddy's at the age of 15, 16 or 17. So what do I do...hmmmm, tell them they can just go to the local pharmacy to get this miracle drug and **poof** the 'problem' is solved! Forget about being an actual parent and teaching them, and being involved. That is just simply too damn much work.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE!!!

Oh, we have a problem with teen pregnancy don't we. I swear I just read somewhere else that teen pregnancy rates have decreased? Maybe I was just dreaming.

Either way, I hope that there is enough sense in some people out there who make these laws to perhaps put the kibosh on this new little scheme coming from those who are just too damn lazy and careless to actually take parenting seriously.

I guess I can only hope right?
