As they always have, Power Line remains on top of all things related to NSA hysteria. This latest round of sky-is-falling stupidity from leftists is as unrooted in law as the rest. I encourage readers to take a look at the pertinent sections of Title 18, Chapter 121, Section 2709 of the U.S. Code.
One rather humerous footnote. It turns out that the super-duper top-secret phone call information that Chimpler McStankypoll is data-mining is available to anyone! Hinderaker points out that any person with enough money could buy records for every single individual in the country and simply donate them to the NSA.
Naturally, that won't stop unhinged morons from screaming about the disappearance of our civil liberties. But then, that really says more about their own lack of understanding than anything else. And it would be funnier if the unhinged moron crowd didn't include names like Schumer and Leahy.
