My friends over at Patriots for Bush brought this to my attention this evening.
Howard Dean and his groupies at the DNC are reporting "record setting" fundraising numbers for Howard Dean, courtesy of Ankle Biting Pundits.
Since becoming chairman in mid- February, Gov. Howard Dean has brought the passion of the grassroots with him to the DNC by raising over $1 million a week from approximately 600,000 donations - a record amount of money for an off-year election cycle.
H-Bomb points out how great that would be if the DNC were running against the DNC of 1997, which of course...they are not. They are running against the Republican Party, which, according to June numbers has raised $55,301,434.97 so far this year. The "cash on hand" numbers paint an ever-bleaker picture for the DNC, as they are outpaced four to one by the GOP at $32,682,270.61 to $8,266,805.69.
It would seem at this point that the Democratic Party better have a very strong message heading into the next election as they will have to capture the imagination of the voters spending a fraction of what the GOP will have available. So far, all I have seen is retreads of the same arguments that cost them the 2004 election. Granted, there is more hysteria, but proposals addressing pressing issues or alternatives to the things they criticize on a daily basis are sorely lacking.
I certainly echo the sentiments of H-Bomb regarding the DNC's decision to go with Dean.
I would like to take a moment once again to thank our moonbat friends for electing this dipstick your god.
