Let's see...
NARAL hates John Roberts
Yaay, maybe he's a wonderful choice
Ann Coulter doesn't like John Roberts
Hmm, better think about this then
Hillary Clinton is going to approve John Roberts
Ut oh, now I know he's a bad choice
In all seriousness, even I was easily fooled when I found out how much NARAL hated John Roberts. But Ann Coulter made a good point when she said, "The only way a Supreme Court nominee could win the approval of NARAL and Planned Parenthood would be to actually perform an abortion during his confirmation hearing, live, on camera, and preferably a partial-birth one".
The clincher that really convinced me to be against Robert's nomination was when I read this revealing quote in a press release by Radio Show host Pastor Bob Enyart, "Roberts has argued against Roe v. Wade and defended pro-life activists. However, in his 2003 D.C. Circuit confirmation hearing, Roberts said: “Roe v. Wade is the settled law of the land. ... There's nothing in my personal views that would prevent me from fully and faithfully applying that precedent.”
Being a pro-lifer who cares about the issues my mailbox was flooded almost immediately from pro-family organizations like the ACLJ and the AFA asking me to write letters to politicans or sign petitions in favor of Roberts who they admiringly called pro-life. I think they are making a huge mistake by backing Roberts. Other Christian organizations are beginning to sit up and take notice like Denver Bible Church as noted in this article Denver Bible Church Calls on Pro-Life Leadersto Drop Support for Roberts’ Nomination.
I have been complaining for a long time about the compromise within the Republican party which would lead to a takeover by Liberals who pretend to be Conservative "moderates". Now I have to say that I am really impressed with Ann Coulter's willingness not to go along with the crowd.
Isn't it funny how Hillary is pretending to be "moderate" now? Is this a game they play seeing how many gullible people will be won over by what they see at face value without looking deeper to see if their candidates really stand on their positions? We have to have the courage to stand by our convictions and only approve of those who do the same.
