The Anti-War Rally Myth

If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

- Samuel Adams

As a soldier of several years with experience at all levels - strategic, tactical and operational, I have yet to run into a single sailor, marine, airman or soldier who is "pro-war;" however, I have run into very few who do not understand the necessity of war. Confucius and Sun Tzu realized very similar positions on the matter. Further, many of us also realize that no argument about the morality of war is likely to prevent war from recurring in the future. From here, it seems clear enough that we either determine which events justify a physical battle - or, moreover, its alternatives.

These "alternatives" are routinely insisted upon by the far-left, but rarely - if ever - quantified.

The plan of appeasement is no answer. The moment we negotiate our own Rights to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness is the very moment we subjugate ourselves to tyrants.

The plan of isolationism is no answer, either. Ignorance of history will not get us a free pass when it comes time for history to repeat itself. Historically, wars are fought over ideas and resources and no amount of isolationism will prevent another state from eye-balling our greener grasses.

The plan of negotiation (diplomacy) is, however, an answer - but, negotiation becomes appeasement the moment we sacrifice our moral principles. All too often, the far-left approach to diplomacy too-easily accepts the sacrifice, and therefore the gradual decimation of our moral principles. And worse, too many (not just on the far-left) fail to realize that some people (terrorists) will accept nothing short of their religious ideals. They will negotiate nothing but our surrender.

The anti-war rally myth is that we can somehow sing a round of Kumbayah and avert conflict while maintaining our quality of life. This myth leads to the "quality" of life we've seen in the Middle East (i.e. the lack of civil rights - especially for women, genocide, and decades of oppression). This myth is a bill of goods that will get us nothing - if not kicked out of our own backyards by neighborhood bullies, let alone terrorists from half-way around the world.

Unless we are willing to promote and defend our way of life, we are not going to maintain it. There will always be another bully.

Armand,

I've been going at it with buddah boy at my journal on similar issues. He is really pissing me off with his insensitivities about the military issues.

There is just no end to their hatefulness and inability to understand common sense.

"To die for an idea; it is unquestionably noble. But how much more nobler it would be if men died for ideas that were true!"--H.L. Mencken

Your belief that this war is necessary has been undermined by all available evidence. Your leader lied to you, your comrades, and the rest of us. Over 1700 American soldiers have died fighting for George Bush's lies.

If you are not pro-war, then this is the war to be against.

Do I sense a coward visiting our site? One from Bleu's Clues Gudah base? One who just can't seem to stop harrassing a military man who has the balls to be brave and defend the likes of his sorry ass?

Thought I could smell the stench of rotting cheese.

Dave,

In a court of law, your testimony - ANY testimony - would be fully impeached by the irrefutable evidence I have detailing the lies you have told regarding what we both know you called me.

A liar, is a liar, is a liar - Dave, and that is you. The cool thing about saying that is that it's not a personal attack when it is verifiably and necessarily true. It's just a fact.

You have no credibility with me, Dave. None.

Let's not pretend you have any business telling me what war I should and should not fight or defend.

Settle down Armandt. Like the rest of the anti-freedom left, Dave is just being played by the Islamofascists and their apologists. Truth doesn't matter to them. Here's a quote on the subject:

"It appears that al-Qaida is well aware of the coalition of suckers in this country that gleefully eat up these accusations in their hunger for anything to use against the war effort. I wonder if there will ever come a day when they realize they got played like a virgin on prom night.

"Somehow I doubt it. Like the young, inexperienced lover, they will probably look back with something akin to romantic bliss, all the while nothing more than a locker room exploit, the trophy of manipulative bullies keeping score on a bedpost somewhere."

Dave's being used and doesn't have the good sense to know it. Someday he may feel the urgent need for a shower and a rape kit,but I doubt it.

In the meantime, if he thinks he is "in love" who are we to tell him different?

It's getting clearer and clearer that you guys are certifiably insane.

Moth,

Care to clarify what strikes you as "certifiably insane," or - like the "leadership" of the left, have you nothing but obstructionism and complaints?

Hint: You'll come-off a lot smarter if you address something more concrete and not make your first showing out to be an illogical personal attack.

If anything is certifiable so far - it's that we obviously can't be intelligent FOR you. You'll have to think on your own to accomplish that. Stick around. We're here to help!

Now now, let's not mistake armand for a real live war hero. He's safe and sound in the beautiful state of Washington, far far away from any bad guys. And I'm sure none of you would try to make the case that Armand has lifted a single finger to fight for anybody's rights. The only thing I've seen him fight for is his AOL Blog.

You may continue your campaign against me. Anybody with just a tiny bit of common sense knows that there is not a single file on a computer that cannot be tampered with. Why would you go to so much trouble to pretend I'm not credible? You have some serious issues. I hope you find help.

Dave,

As most people capable of independent thought realize, we /all/ do not simultaneously deploy. How stupid would it be for all of us to move out at one time? My time for deployment has come - and will come again. Clearly, you know shit about the topic.

You know full-well exactly what you said to me and when I recently re-sent you the e-mail that you had sent to me, you could not refute your words then, either. You could only tell me to "have fun" with outting your lies.

If no one but me and you know the real truth, that's good enough for me, but I'm more than willing to share that truth with anyone who cares to know what you're truly made of.

The issues, Dave, are yours entirely. I'm calling you a LIAR and if you want to back yourself up, then get yourself a lawyer. I'd be more than happy to have any judge in America validate the truth. It just ain't libel or slander if it's true.

____

If anyone wants to test Dave's theory of manipulated AOL e-mails, feel free - and let me know how to accomplish what Dave is suggesting. Even then, it wont change Dave's lies. He can never change that fact.

Curious that Dave continues to deny something he proudly acknowledged just a couple of months ago. He even apologized at his blog for some of the statements.

How much do you want to bet that his public apology has now been deleted from his blog?

Did anyone catch this one from Buddhaboy: "You may continue your campaign against me."

Typical leftist. It's all about him.
