Rove, Reid, And Dean

"In the wake of 9/11, conservatives believed it was time to unleash the might and power of the United States military against the Taliban; in the wake of 9/11 liberals believed it was time to submit a petition." Rove continued, "I am not joking. Submitting a petition is precisely what MoveOn.org did. It was a petition imploring the powers that be to 'use moderation and restraint in responding to the terrorist attacks against the United States.' "

What a quote from a conservative. Karl Rove, the evil mastermind who produced four more years of America’s most evil president, has spoken yet another most evil little speech. In this evil little speech, he describes for us what liberals (the light in a dark world) really are – ignorant hippies.

How can he be so rude? I find it hard to believe that calling somewhat what they are is rude. Are liberals in favor of defending America? No, because they want to weaken our military, pull out of Iraq (which will embolden the terrorists), and give our sovereignty over to that un-corruptible institution, the United Nations. The short version of their stance is that they are weak on defense (and offense for that matter).

But I do not want to deal with their weak position on the defense of this country. Instead, I wish to deal with the fact that there are numerous people out there who want Karl Rove to apologize for his “evil” comment about liberals.

This whole situation is a great example of the liberal double standard that we hear (and see) so much about. First of all, Karl Rove should not retract his statements. I mean, what can be so rude about describing the very nature of someone? What could be so bad about describing what people do? If someone is weak on defense, what could be so wrong with calling them weak on defense?

Keep that fact in mind as I take you through other statements made by liberals. Karl Rove said liberals do not want to defend this country. There is a terrible backlash, cries of hatred, and foaming at the mouth liberals demanding Rove be silenced.

However, Howard Dean, the compassionate liberal from Vermont, had some rather mean things to say about Republicans:

"They [The Republican Party] are out of the mainstream. They have not included a lot of people in their party who are incredibly important to America;"

"pretty much a white Christian Party"

"Republicans are not very friendly towards different kinds of people."

"They've [the Republican Party] have gone out of their way to use other kinds of people as scapegoats in order to win elections."

"Most Republicans have never worked an honest day in their lives."

Question: Where were all the foaming at the mouth liberals when Howard Dean said those remarks? Where was the press and their demands that Howard Dean apologize for his insensitive statements? Our good friend Harry Reid also had some nice things to say about Bush a while back:

"I think this guy is a loser.

Question: Where were all the foaming at the mouth liberals when Harry Reid said those remarks? Where was the press and their demands that Harry Reid apologize for his insensitive statements?

Of course, I could go on and on and on with quotes from liberals. However, I have made my case with the above quotes, so I will not make you read additional quotes.

Let us tie this all together now. The media and liberals are all upset with Karl Rove for saying that liberals are weak on defense. But they are! It can easily be seen by the organizations they are involved in, the policies they support, and the candidates they elect. Nonetheless, the press is furious that Rove would say such things.

Next we have Howard Dean, the compassionate liberal from Vermont, who attacks Republicans at a personal level, not a political level. There is a very big difference between the two. But no, we do not hear the press demanding Dean take his comments back. In fact, we had several other Democrats and the press get behind Dean with those comments.

And finally, we have our good friend, Harry Reid. Reid attacks Bush at a personal level (as opposed to a professional level), but we do not hear the press demanding that Reid retract his insensitive words. In fact, it was people like Rush Limbaugh and bloggers who eventually forced Reid to (very quietly) apologize. It was not, in any case, the mainstream press.

It just goes to show you that the double standard really does exist. It is no okay for conservatives to attack liberals on a professional level, but it is certainly acceptable for liberals to attack conservatives on a personal level. And the intolerant Left claims there is no media bias!
