In response to the hysterical frothing at the mouth response from the useful idiots of the left, in response to the President's long-overdue speech last night, I offer a couple of reads.
Andrew McCarthy has an extensive list of Iraq's ties to terrorism under Saddam Hussein. When our trolls are done reading it, perhaps they would like to answer this question, posed by McCarthy following his outline:
Just tell us one thing: Do you have any good answer to what Ahmed Hikmat Shakir was doing with the 9/11 hijackers in Kuala Lampur? Can you explain it?
If not, why aren't you moving heaven and earth to find out the answer?
Check out SoCalPundit as well, who has put together an extensive list of links on the subject, certain to keep those who hear selectively busy for hours...if they care.
Finally, read Nicholas Lemmon, who wrote these words, among others, before the invasion of Iraq began:
In his State of the Union address, President Bush offered at least four justifications, none of them overlapping: the cruelty of Saddam against his own people; his flouting of treaties and United Nations Security Council resolutions; the military threat that he poses to his neighbors; and his ties to terrorists in general and to Al Qaeda in particular.
Leftists who are today trying to rewrite last night's speech in such a way that Bush is once again trying to link 9/11 to Hussein or Iraq are stone liars. In addition, the idea that the President should not mention 9/11 in a speech regarding the war that resulted directly from it is infantile, mypoic, and politically brain-dead.
They should keep it up though. Virtually all non-brain-dead people are laughing at them as they froth. Personally, I know the speech was a good one, because all of the right people are crying like babies today.
